Buffalo beats Blazers 11-8

BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) - A strong defensive second half, combined with key goals from John Tavares and Mark Steenhuis, led the Buffalo Bandits to a 11-8 playoff win over Boston.  Buffalo advances on to play New York, and stays alive for a second-straight NLL Championship.

Just six goals were scored in the second half.  Buffalo led 7-6 at the break, but the Blazers tied the game 7-7.  Goals by Tavares and Steenhuis pushed Buffalo to a two-goal lead that they would not give up.

Tavares had two goals and four assists.  Steenhuis scored four goals.  Corey Bomberry had one goal and three assists.  Ken Montour made 39 saves.
