NEWARK, NJ (WIVB) - The Bandits were held to just three goals, and now their season is over.  Playing in the National Lacrosse League's East Division Final, Buffalo lost to the New York Titans 9-3 at the Prudential Center in Newark,  NJ.

The three goals are a season low for the Bandits.  They will not have a chance to win back-to-back NLL Championships.

John Tavares and Mark Steenhuis, who tied for the league lead with 51 goals each, were shutout.

New York's defense, led by goalie Matt Vinc (Canisius College), was too much for a normall high-scoring Buffalo offense.  The Bandits had 44 shots on goal.  Vinc made 41 saves.

The Titans jumped out toa 6-1 lead before Mike Accursi and Sean Greenhalgh cut the lead to 6-3.  Casey Powell and Pat Maddalena led the Titans with two goals.

NY will play for the NLL Championship against Calgary or San Jose.

The Bandits finish the season at 10-7.
