ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) - News 4 Sports Director and voice of the Bills, John Murphy has confirmed that Buffalo Bills owner, Ralph Wilson has fired head coach Dick Jauron.

Jauron has faced criticism all season as the Bills have spiraled to a record of three and six.

Buffalo Bills web site reports, “I am announcing today that I am relieving Dick Jauron from his duties as our head coach, effectively immediately," said Wilson in a team statement. "I have tremendous respect for Dick and thank him for all of his efforts during these past four years. While this was a very difficult decision, I felt that it is one that needed to be made at this time for the best interest of our team. We will now focus on moving forward and preparing for our game this week in Jacksonville.”

AP reported on Monday that Bills defensive end, Aaron Schobel said, " It's embarrassing," the longest-tenured player on the Bills roster said Monday, a day after a 41-17 loss at Tennessee dropped Buffalo's record to 3-6. "I mean, we're technically, mathematically still in it, I guess, but it's like what ... are we doing here?".

AP also reported that Dick Jauron said this about the Bills losses, "It hasn't gone the way any of us would've liked it to have gone at this point. But we'll just keep working and try to get the thing righted."

The Bills have confirmed that Perry Fewell was named the interim head coach.  Fewell has been the Bills Defensive Coordinator for the last three years.

Members of the Bills coaching staff were informed of this around 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

John Murphy will bring us the latest at 5, 6, 10 and 11 on Tuesday evening.
