BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - With Dick Jauron now out of the picture, could a Superbowl-winning coach be eyeing a return to football via One Bills Drive?
There's a chance anyway. NFL sources tell News 4 the Bills have decided to hire a football overseer, someone to preside over the team's fortunes on the field. And ESPN says one of the candidates they have in mind is former Denver Broncos coach Mike Shanahan.
He was the Broncos coach and Vice President of football operations before Denver fired him at the end of last season. The ESPN report says the Bills are trying to arrange a meeting with Shanahan and he is interested in talking. Shanahan is likely to draw significant interest from other teams looking for a head coach so you wonder if the Bills will be ready to offer him what he wants.
In the meantime, Perry Fewell is on the job as the Bills interim head coach. And he's already made a big decision on a quarterback.
