Late Tavares Goal Lifts Bandits

NLL PLayoffs: Buffalo Beats Boston 11-10

BUFFALO (WIVB) - The Bandits had a lead.  Then, they lost it.  Then, their veteran star made sure they got it back.  John Tavares scored with 40 seconds to go, giving the Bansits an 11-10 win over the Boston Blazers in the first round of the NLL playoffs.

Buffalo did hold a 10-6, 4th quarter lead before the Blazers started their comeback. 

The Bandits will host either Toronto next Saturday in the second round of the playoffs.  Game time is 7:30.  The Rock beat Rochester on Sunday to advance.

Roger Vyse scored four goals for the Bandits.  Tavares had three goals and four assists.  Mark Steenhuis had two goals and two assists. 

Mike Thompson 42 saves, including one with a few seconds remaining that held the Buffalo lead.

Casey Powell scored four goals for the Blazers.
