Canisius, UB drop BracketBusters

BUFFALO, NY (WIVB.com) - It's BracketBuster weekend and there is a full slate of Big 4 Hoops games today. The action started earlier today.

Canisius fell to Vermont on the road, 87-79, in a non-conference matchup.  Harold Washington led Canisius with 27 points. Vermont went 9-9 from the charity stripe in the final three minutes to help themselves seal the victory.

UB shared a similar fate as they hosted Manhattan today. The Bulls fell to the Jaspers 65-64. Tony Watson put forth an impressive effort, scoring a game-high 24 points for the Bulls.

On Mount Eagle Ridge, Niagara hosted Northwestern State. Juan'ya Green and Antoine Mason both paced the Purple Eagles with 20 points apiece, leading Niagara to a decisive 92-76 win.

St. Bonaventure visited Duquesne. Demitrius Conger and Chris Johnson led the Bonnies with 19 apiece as they defeated the Dukes 78-71.
