INDIANAPOLIS (WIVB) - While the major focus at the NFL Combine this week will be on college prospects, the Bills also have plenty of talks going on behind the scenes. General Manager Buddy Nix says the Bills will meet with the agents for both Jairus Byrd and Andy Levitre this week in Indianapolis.
Byrd and Levitre represent the two highest-profile Bills players who are set to hit free agency next month. Nix said those two, along with Leodis McKelvin, are the big three players he wants to re-sign. Nix also mentioned defensive end Kyle Moore as a player he would like to have back in the fold next season.
Byrd made the Pro Bowl this season as an alternate, and would likely command a high salary on the open market. If a deal can't be reached, the Franchise tag could come into play, guaranteeing Byrd's return for one more season.
The last player to receive a Franchise designation from the Bills was Nate Clements.
