Ralph Wilson Stadium - The Bills banged up defense will be hard-pressed to stop the Titans explosive running attack this Sunday. Tennessee's Chris Johnson is just 41-yards away from the one-thousand yard mark and he leads the league in rushing so far. Johnson has had several big runs already this season.
The Bills are dead last in the NFL in rushing defense--giving
up 174-yards per game; five yards per carry. Theyve been injured.
and theyve been on the field too long. But Bills defenders
say they're not looking for excuses.
"We've been on the field a lot, we've had guys get injured," admits linebacker Paul Posluszny. "But really, you can't have that as an excuse. You gotta go out there and play football, you know what I mean? Get off the field, make the plays you need to make. At times, we haven't done that."
Defensive end Chris Kelsay is another key defender who's not looking for excuses.
"We haven't played to our potential against the run. There's a lot of things you can point the finger at, a lot of excuses you can make," he told News 4 Sports. "Myself and any other guy on the defensive side of the ball, in this locker room, will just tell you we just didnt play well enough in those games. Statistically, it shows."
The Bills have allowed an opponent's running back to rush for
100-yards or more in five of the last six games.
