BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - He was the voice of the Bills during the glory years and the sports director at News 4 for decades.
Now Van Miller is in print.
It's about time that Van Miller write a book.
He collaborated with author Rob Thompson of Attica on "Fasten Your Seatbelts: The Van Miller Story".
Thompson collected memories of Van from those who worked with him through the years.
But why did he wait so long to write a book?
"A couple of guys wanted to write it, and they wrote it, and it was terrible. There were inaccuracies, no pictures, but this time I think we have a winner, Murph," Van exclaimed.
Rob said, "We have probably 300 plus hours of interviews, and the trick for us was pushing it all into 200 pages. And it was a magical mystery ride."
From his days in Dunkirk, to his glory years with the Buffalo Braves and Bills, Van Miller's trademark was his energy and enthuisiasm.
Van will be signing copies of the book on Saturday November 21st at the Barnes and Noble on Niagara Falls Boulevard.
