FORT LAUDERDAL, FL (WIVB) - Andre Reed will have to keep waiting. The Bills alltime leading receiver was once again denied entrance into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. At Saturday's vote in Fort Lauderdale, Reed did not make the cut from 15 finalists to five. Its the fourth straight year that he has failed to move beyond the intial finalists.
The NFL's fourth alltime leading receiver wasn't the only wideout to be rejected. While Jerry Rice was inducted, fellow pass catches Cris Carter and Tim Brown also did not receiver enough votes.
Its been 27 years since more than one receiver was part of a single year's class.
This year's class includes Rice, Emmitt Smith, Russ Grimm, Rickey Jackson, John Randle, Dick LeBeau and Floyd Little.
LeBeau, inducted as a cornerback, spent one season as a Bills assistant coach.
