ORCHARD PARK, NY (WIVB) - The Tennessee Titans won their first road game of the season at Ralph Wilson Stadium today, defeating the Bills 35-34. Both teams played well offensively as both struggled defensively. Consequently, the game was a high-scoring see-saw battle, with three touchdowns being scored in 25 seconds near the end of the first quarter.
The Titans offense was led by running back Chris Johnson who ran for 195 yards in 18 carries for two touchdowns. For the Bills, Ryan Fitzpatrick played well through the first three quarters. On the day, he logged 225 yards and three touchdowns with passes to Fred Jackson, Stevie Johnson and Donald Jones.
The game came down to the fourth quarter, where Ryan Fitzpatrick was picked off by Jason McCourty with less than three minutes to play.
On the next drive, the Titans quarterback Matt Hasselbeck would come through when it mattered most. With 1:05 left Hasselbeck hit his target, Nat Washington, for the go-ahead touchdown.
The Bills were unable to get themselves in field goal range and subsequently lost 35-34, in a game that seemed to slowly slip right out of their hands. The Bills enter the bye 3-4 on the season.
