Bills try to stay upbeat

Ralph Wilson Stadium - The Bills find themselves heavy underdogs again this week as they get set to play the Ravens in Baltimore. That's what a 0-and-five record will do for you.

One of the big challenges for Chan Gailey and his coaching staff is to keep the team from getting too down about the rough start to the year. Gailey says despite what's gone on so far, he still thinks the Bills can be good this year.

"I know that we've got some good players,” Gailey says. “I know that we believe, as coaches, we know how to get to a championship football team. You have to believe in those two things and if you do, you've got a chance to get there at some point in time."

Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick agrees, but he also says the team desperately needs to win, and soon.

“We need a win, and it’s hard to hear that we’re basically one of the two worst teams in the league,” Fitzpatrick says. “And the guys in the locker room, I don’t think we believe that right now. But it’s what we are because that’s what our record says. There is an urgency to get that win.”

Bills defensive tackle Kyle Williams missed Thursday's practice after injuring his ankle on Wednesday. The Bills will update his status Friday.
