The playoffs are out of question now, and some big questions loom for the Buffalo Bills.
But as far as Head Coach Chan Gailey is concerned, there is no question about Ryan Fitzpatrick, and whether he’s the team’s long-term answer at quarterback.
“No. None. Zero. I have no questions about him,” Gailey said Monday at One Bills Drive.
“We've all seen him do it; we know he can do it. I think as soon as we continue to work on getting everybody on the same page, I think Fitz will be fine."
Fitzpatrick was less-than-fine Sunday in the Bills blowout loss at San Diego. He threw two interceptions and one of them was returned for a touchdown by the Chargers. He finished 13-of-34 for 176-yards, and had a quarterback rating of 31.0
“I think you hit it on the head in terms of very poor performance for me, I think that was obvious,” Fitzpatrick said in the locker room Monday.
“It’s not the first bad game I’ve ever had, I’m sure there’s going to be more. I’ve had plenty of good ones, and I’ve rebounded from poor performances, and that’s what we’re looking forward to this week.”
Gailey says the Bills only had minor bumps and bruises from the loss at San Diego. He plans on continuing to rotate Chris Hairston and Demetrius Bell at left tackle, and hopes to get even more snaps at the position for Bell this Sunday against the Dolphins.
