ORCHARD PARK, NY (WIVB) - The Buffalo Bills and Terrence McGee have agreed on a restructured contract, one that still keeps the veteran cornerback with the team for the next two years.
Sources tell News 4 Sports that the new deal is incentive based, according to how many games and snaps that McGee plays. He has missed 22 games due to injury over the past three seasons. McGee was due to receiver $3.6 million in 2012, and $4.6 million in 2013. He can still make that money, if he meets the games played incentives.
Bringing McGee back gives the Bills some depth at the cornerback position. Drayton Florence and Aaron Williams ended the season as starters. Leodis McKelvin and Justin Rogers are backups. McGee has always been a solid, valuable player when he's been healthy. General Manager Buddy Nix did indicate after the season that the Bills will consider drafting another cornerback this April.
McGee has ben a member of the Bills since 2003, starting 90 games over those nine seasons. This restructured deal makes it more likely that he will finish his career in Buffalo.
