BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - After being a finalist for the Hall of Fame for the last seven years, Andre Reed just didn’t make the cut.
Reed had a 16 year NFL career and spent most of his career in Buffalo and also played in four consecutive Super Bowls with the Bills.
Reed’s stats are Hall of Fame caliber with over 13,000 receiving yard and 87 touchdowns however there’s been a logjam with wide receivers getting into the hall of fame.
“There are only 21 receivers in the Hall of Fame out of 271 guys. I don’t know what has to be done if anything does; we kind of get a bad rep for some reason,” said Reed. “It’s so tough to be nominated but hopefully receivers in the next 10 years start getting recognized a little better.”
One who did make it this year was Chris Carter.
