The Buffalo Bisons are in the market for a new manager.
Last year's skipper, Tim Teufel, got the call to the majors on Wednesday. He's been named the New York Mets new third base coach, in a shakeup of Terry Collins coaching staff at the big league level.
Teufel managed the Bisons in 2011. The Herd went 61-82 during his lone season in Buffalo, and finished in fifth place in the International League North Division.
Last year's Bisons pitching coach, Ricky Bones, will also move up to the big league club. He's been named the Mets new bullpen coach, after serving as Buffalo's pitching coach the last three years.
Mets manager Terry Colins announced the changes Wednesday, and let three of his big league coaches go. Among the three fired--former Bisons manager Ken Oberkfell, who was New York's bench coach last year.
Mets officials say they're likely to promote Wally Backman, the manager at Double-A Binghamton last year, to be the Bisons manager at the Triple-A level. But that move has not been made official yet.
