BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - On the heels of quite possibly the biggest win in program history, Buffalo State's football team is determined to keep its newly-acquired national attention.
The Bengals knocked off #1 Wisconsin-Whitewater 7-6 last week, earning Buff. State its first national ranking in 12 years.
"It's been exciting," said junior quarterback Casey Kacz. "People I don't really know, people I haven't talked to in a while come up and say 'good game' and 'congratulations' and stuff."
Now the key will be maintaining this level, with Empire 8 opponent Alfred coming to town this Saturday.
"We have to be careful," said head coach Jerry Boyes. "Yes, it's a special win, will not argue that. But it's just one win. We have seven weeks left in the season, and those seven weeks are really what's going to define us."
Buffalo State hosts Alfred Saturday at 12:30pm, looking to improve to 3-1 on the season.
