BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Canisius is on the verge of doubling its win total from last season - and the calendar hasn't even hit 2013. The Griffs held off a late rally to beat Alcorn State Thursday night, 87-74.
Isaac Sosa led the Griffs with 21 points. Billy Baron chipped in 19 - two of four players in double figures for Canisius.
Canisius now has a 9-3 record to start the season, just one year after winning five games in the entire season.
The Griffs will close out the December portion of their schedule Sunday at Detroit.
