Niagara Falls, NY - A whirlwind four days for the pride of Niagara Falls Jonny Flynn. He was drafted in the first round of the NBA draft last Thursday and spent the weekend with his new team, the Minnesota Timberwolves. Monday night, he came back home.
It was a hero's welcome for Flynn at Niagara Falls City Hall, apacked house to welcome him home in the city council chambers. Flynn got the key to the city of Niagara Falls from the mayor..and he had words of thanks for his friends and fans.
"Everybody just supported me throughout this whole process,"Flynn told the crowd, " and supported me when I was that scrawny little freshman on that Niagara Falls team. To the time when I scored 28 points in my first game at Syracuse, until finally this big day, the big dream I had of getting drafted in the NBA. I just want to thank you guys for pushing me over that hump, always supporting me, and always having my back. I love you Niagara Falls."
Flynn got a handshake from his old Niagara Falls and Syracuse teammate..Paul Harris who is entertaining free agent offers from NBA teams.
