Buffalo, N.Y. (WIVB) - The 41st recipient of the Connolly Cup is Alden's Corey Barczykowski. Barczykowski is both a running back and defensive back. He led the Bulldogs to an 11-1 record, which brought them to the state semifinals where they lost to Maine-Endwell, 49-14.
In 2012 Barczykowski rushed for 2,255 yards and 28 touchdowns, which set a single season rushing record at Alden. The Connolly Cup is awarded to the most outstanding football player in Western New York. Players are judged based on strength of opposition, sportsmanship, athletic ability, team play, and work ethic.
