Two of the five finalists for New York's Mr. Basketball come from Western New York this year. Jermaine Crumpton (Niagara Falls) and Adam Weir (Canisius) are in the running for the state's highest high school basketball honor.
Crumpton is averaging 20 points and 11 rebounds per game for Niagara Falls this season, while Weir is putting up 21.3 points and 7.7 reboundsa night.
The two stars will be teammates next year at Canisius College, but both still have unfinished business in the high school ranks. Niagara Falls plays Kenmore West Thursday night in the Sectional Semifinals. Canisius takes on Bishop Timon tonight for the Monsignor Martin title.
