ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) - Bills players are rallying around Marcell Dareus, who flew home to Alabama to mourn the loss of his brother this week.

Dareus is expected to return later this week, and Head Coach Chan Gailey says he will play Sunday against Kansas City.

"He has a lot on his plate, to say the least," said Gailey. "I talked with him this morning and I think he will be back for Sunday’s game. Whether it is tonight, tomorrow or the next day I do not know but I think he will be here for this week. He wants to be back."

Many of his teammates have reached out to Dareus, knowing that he is going through a tough time.

"My heart goes out to Marcell," said Mario Williams. "I texted him, I wasn’t going to call him. He has a lot going on. I wish him the very best, take his time and take care of that. It is detrimental not to just him, but for us with our hearts being with him and thinking about his situation."

The Bills host the Chiefs Sunday at 1pm for the home opener.
