Decisions looming for Sabres blue line

Nine defensemen in training camp

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Sabres will have some decisions to make this week, despite the shortened training camp. With nine defensemen in camp, that will be a good place to start.

NHL roster cut-downs will be this Friday. At most, the Sabres are expected to keep eight defensemen.

One interesting dynamic in this situation revolves around T.J. Brennan, who was the leading scorer in Rochester (AHL) before entering camp. In order to send him back to the minors, Brennan would have to pass through waivers, which is unlikely to happen without another team claiming him.

Other blue-liners on the roster include Tyler Myers, Christian Ehrhoff, Jordan Leopold, Adam Pardy, Robyn Regehr, Andrej Sekera, and Alexander Sulzer.

The Sabres canceled practice Thursday. They will be back on the ice Friday and Saturday from 10:30am-12:30pm. Both days are free and open to the public.
