Filly Uses Late Charge to Win Stakes

FORT ERIE - Dixie Strike's late charge made the filly the 77th winner of the Prince of Wales Stakes at Fort Erie Racetrack.
The Stakes is likely the last to be held at Fort Erie, which is closing at the end of the year.
The Prince of Wales Stakes is the second jewel in Canada's Triple Crown - and the only one of the three races to be run on dirt.
Dixie Strike finished third last month in the Queen's Plate, the first of the three Canadian Triple Crown races.
