ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) - Bills rookie left tackle Cordy Glenn will miss his third straight game with an ankle injury, Bills Head Coach Chan Gailey announced Wednesday.

Gailey said the team is targeting the Houston game for Glenn's return.

Also Wednesday, defensive end Shawne Merriman practiced for the first time since re-joining the team this week, after being released in August.

At the time, he said he was more comfortable as a linebacker, but he is more than willing to play on the line with Buffalo.

"I have played linebacker my whole entire life but when you are a football player you are a football player," said Merriman. "You can put your hand in the dirt, you can stand up, and obviously if these guys if they didn’t think I could play defensive end then they wouldn’t have brought me back. I am happy to not only contribute, but kind of just pick up where I left off and do what they need me to do."

Starting guard Kraig Urbik practiced today for the first time since injuring his ankle against New England three weeks ago.

Off the field, Bills safety Jairus Byrd earned the AFC Defensive Player of the Week award Wednesday.
