BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - During the season, he probably spent more time with Tiger Woods than his own wife. Now, Tiger's caddie is denying reports that he helped hide Woods' affairs.
More than three months after the Cadillac crash that turned Tiger's life upside down, his caddie is finally speaking out.
Steve Williams has been carrying Tiger's clubs for eleven years. Often caddies become close to their golfers, providing a shoulder to lean on, someone with emotional support. After Tiger's accident, questions surfaced about whether or not Williams helped to hide Woods' affairs. But Williams says he wouldn't and he didn't.
"Of course I'm mad at him, why would you not be? He's obviously let his family down. I've said it before, I knew nothing, and that's my answer. I knew nothing, I don't need to clarify, the extent of that answer, I knew nothing," said Williams.
Ironically, Williams says he hasn't discussed the affairs with Woods at all. He adds that Tiger's return to the golf tour will wait until Woods thinks he's in top form.
