BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Mikhail Grigorenko had a memorable night, but it was not enough to snap the Sabres' losing streak. Matt Frattin's goal with 1.5 seconds left in overtime sent Buffalo to its fourth straight loss, 4-3.
Grigorenko registered the first goal of his NHL career in the third period to tie the game at 3-3 and ultimately force overtime.
That is where Frattin stepped in, swooping in from the left side with the clock winding down. His shot skipped just past Ryan Miller for the game-winner.
Earlier in the game, Jason Pominville scored the 179th goal of his career, passing Phil Housley for 12th all-time on the Sabres list. Andrej Sekera also scored for Buffalo.
Patrick Kaleta left the game in the first period with an injury and did not return.
The Sabres have a day off Wednesday before heading to Boston to play the Bruins Thursday night.
