ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) - Nathaniel Hackett's resume' isn't filled with NFL coaching stops, but the Bills new offensive coordinator insists he's ready to run Buffalo's offense.
Head Coach Doug Marrone introduced his new offensive staff Thursday, with Hackett being the main attraction.
He served as Marrone's offensive coordinator at Syracuse the last three years, after four seasons as an offensive quality control coach - two years with the Bills and two with Tampa Bay.
"My two years (in Tamp), they were very extreme," said Hackett. "I like to think of it as the Harvard of football... The amount of pass drawings I drew, I want to say I drew up to about 15,000 pass plays."
Marrone said his familiarity with Hackett was one of the big factors in handing him the keys to the offense.
"For me, personally, with my beliefs on offense, it was very easy for me to make the decision that I wanted to Nathaniel here," said Marrone. "We've gone through three years together of the growing pains of what we want to do and where we want to be in an offensive system."
The Bills will introduce the defensive coaching staff Friday afternoon.
