BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - After jumping out to an early two-goal lead, Canisius was smelling upset today, but Cornell dashed those hopes in a hurry. The #3-ranked Big Red took care of business in the second half, rolling to an 18-7 win over the Griffs.

Vince Gravino got Canisius on the board first, followed by a goal by Austin Romantic to make it 2-0. After Tim Edwards scored late in the first quarter, the Griffs held a 3-2 lead going into the second.

Slowly, Cornell would start to take over, leading 6-4 at the half, then 10-7 after three quarters.

An eight-goal explosion in the fourth quarter sealed the victory, dropping Canisius to 0-3 to start the season.
