Canisius blown away at Iona

New Rochelle, NY - Canisius committed 21 turnovers enroute to a blow out loss to the Iona Gaels.  Iona won its' eighth straight game, a 72-53 win at the Mulcahy Center in New Rochelle.

The Griffs had three players share top scoring honors.  Elton Frazier, Frank Turner, and Julius Coles each had 11 points.  Turner also committed eight of the Griffs 21 turnovers as Canisius failed to build on last Friday night's win over Niagara.

Iona was led by Alejo Rodriguez who had 15 points.  With the win, the Gaels are 9-3 in MAAC play, 17-6 overall.  The Gaels have won eight straight games, a string that dates back to January 4th when they lost at Canisius.

The Griffs fall to 6-6 in conference play, 11-12 overall.  The next game for Canisius is Friday night at Niagara.
