Spiller's status still unclear

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) - As long as his knee does not take a turn for the worse, Bills running back Fred Jackson will play this Sunday against the Patriots.

"If we make it through the next couple days and things continue to improve, I think he'll have an opportunity to play," said Head Coach Chan Gailey.

Jackson admitted his knee was sore this morning, coming off his first practice since the Week One injury against the Jets.

"I still think I can play, I still want to play," said Jackson. "It's just going to be about how much I can play."

C.J. Spiller also practiced Thursday, but it is still unclear whether he will suit up Sunday. Spiller injured his shoulder Sunday against Cleveland in the first quarter and did not return to the game.

Leodis McKelvin returned to practice today as well, after missing Wednesday's session. Wide receiver Ruvell Martin sat out again.

The Patriots also have several key players who missed practice today, including All-Pro offensive lineman Logan Mankins and receiver Julian Edelman, along with tight end Aaron Hernandez.

Buffalo hosts the Patriots this Sunday at 1pm.
