ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (WIVB) - The Bonnies are going to the NCAA Tournament.  Bona won its first ever Atlantic 10 tournament title, beating Xavier 67-56 in Atlantic City.  It will be their first trip to the tournament since 2000.

The men will join the Bona womens team, which is expected to receive an at large bid to the NCAA's on Monday.  The men's will play Friday in Nashville, TN.  They are the 14th seed, and will play 3rd seed Florida State in the East Region.

Andrew Nicholson led Bona with 26 points, 14 rebounds and 8 blocked shots. He was named the tournament's most outstanding player.  Nicholson's performance helped the Bonnies build a 16 point first half lead over the Muskateers.  But then they had to hang on as Xavier fought back to within four points.

The Bonnies are the #14 seed in the East region and will play #3 Florida State in Nashvillle on Friday.

The victory completes a dramatic comeback for the program, which faced NCAA sanctions from a recruiting scandal in 2003.
