BUFFALO (WIVB) - While most reports and signs seem to indicate serious interest from billionaire Terry Pegula, Sabres Managing Parter Larry Quinn tells News 4 Sports that Tom Golisano is not yet at the stage of reviewing a formal offer.
Quinn repeated what he said in Tuesday's official club statement, and says these complicated deals can always break down.
"When they're done, they're done," was his reponse to questions about how far along Pegula is to making an offer and buying the team.
Other reports have indicated that Pegula is in New York City meeting with NHL officials, and could be introduced to the League's Board of Governors at their meeting next week in Palm Beach, Florida. Pegula lives in nearby Boca Raton, FL.
The NHL would not comment to News 4 when asked about those reports.
Quinn is a minority shareholder in the Sabres, along with COO Dan DiPofi. Quinn says he currently retains his ownership stake, and told News 4 Sports "I'll get out when Tom gets out."
That appears to be an indication that Quinn will not have a role in Sabres organization run by a new owner, whether that's Pegula or not.
Pegula remains unavailable for comment.
