BUFFALO - The future is now, at least for one week. The Buffalo Sabres opened the team's Development Camp Monday.
Every 2012 draft pick is in town for the camp, along with most of the team's other high-level prospects. 2012 first-rounders Mikhael Grigorenko and Zemgus Girgensons teamed up with 2011 first-round choice Joel Armia on one of the lines this morning.
The Sabres also had a few possible NHL regulars on the ice, with Cody Hodgson leading the way. Brayden McNabb, Marcus Foligno, Corey Tropp, and Luke Adam also saw NHL action last year.
All players got an early wake-up call this morning, waking up at 4:30am to train with Navy SEALS.
This week's camp runs through Thursday night, finishing with the team's Blue and Gold scrimmage. All practice sessions are open to the public this week at the First Niagara Center. Tuesday's session runs from 10am through 12:30pm.
