TAMPA BAY (WIVB) - The Sabres fell behind very early once again, but kept Tampa Bay off the scoreboard the rest of the way to hand interim Head Coach Ron Rolston his first win as an NHL Head Coach, 2-1 Tuesday night.

Steven Stamkos scored his NHL-leading 14th goal of the season less than a minute and a half into the game to give the Lightning an early 1-0 lead. Former Canisius College star Cory Conacher registered an assist on the play.

Buffalo responded midway through the period when Cody Hodgson scored from a tough angle on the left side of the net, his eighth goal of the year.

The 1-1 tie lasted all the way into the third period, when Tyler Myers scored the game-winner.

The wins was Buffalo's first since the team fired former Head Coach Lindy Ruff last Wednesday.

Buffalo will take on Florida in a road matchup Thursday night.
