BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Months of rumors and speculation finally get their payoff Tuesday, as Terry Pegula officially takes the reins of the Buffalo Sabres.
Pegula introduced western New York to his five children, Michael, Laura, Kelly, Jessie, Matthew and his wife Kim.
The highlight of Terry Pegula's comments at the press event was when he said that now, "The Sabres' reason for existence is to win the Stanley Cup."
Another highlight was an emotional moment for the new Sabres owner. Pegula, with tears in his eyes, told Gilbert Perreault, "You are my hero."
Pegula announced, Ken Sawyer will serve as Senior Advisor & Alternate Governor and Ted Black will be President and Alternate Governor.

Pegula said, "Winning is not a goal, it's a belief," before announcing that he wants the fans and media on the Sabres' side.
Pegula said there will be "No financial mandates on the Sabres."
