BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Buffalo Sabres will soon be on a long flight overseas to start the regular season in Europe.

Wednesday night hundreds of fans filled the First Niagara Center to send off the Sabres in style with chants of 'Let's go Buffalo.' The first 3,000 fans got to line-up for autographs before players and prospects hit the ice for a full-team scrimmage.

Canadian Sabres fan Brian Zedanuttini said, "This is just a good public event. It doesn't cost anything to come here today. The kids will enjoy it and ah, Sabres memories."

The Sabres start the regular season October 7th against the Anaheim Ducks in Helsinki, Finland.
