BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Thursday, a pivotal day lies ahead for the Buffalo Sabres.

At noon, current owner, Tom Golisano, will hold a news conference announcing he's reached a purchase deal with Pennsylvania billionaire, Terry Pegula.

The deal is just weeks away from completion and still needs the green light from the NHL.

Pegula will not be attending Thursday's announcement.
