BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Buffalo Sabres fans are gearing up for a Game 7 showdown as Buffalo tries to keep alive its quest for the cup.
Can you take another overtime? If it means a win, Sabres fans are all for it. They're gearing up for a critical battle on the ice in Philadelphia.
Mike Gallo requires complete concentration during the game.
Gallo said, "Shut my phone off. Quietness. I need quietness, and I just need to be in front of that TV."
The Sabres are looking to do something really special for their fans like Dave Pontera, who drove in from Rochester to get a jersey for the critical Game 7 against Philadelphia.
Pontera said, "Big contingency in Rochester. Very large. Sometimes when you're in Rochester you actually feel like you're in Buffalo there's so many Sabre fans."
We traveled all the way to Philadelphia. Well, Philadelphia Street in the city of Buffalo to see if we can spot any Sabres stuff in the neighborhood. We found no banners, no signs, no flags, no Sabres stuff. Deborah Martin, whose job takes her to Philly Street, also wondered about the lack of visible Sabres stuff.
"They should be having something out here. I don't know. Got to say, "Go Sabres.,"" said Martin.
It's safe to say that Erik Moley goes above and beyond what's expected of a true-Buffalo fan. For five years, Moley and his friend Kevin have been adding to a basement tribute to the Sabres.
Moley said, "It's a packed house each and every game. Especially playoffs. 30 to 40 people each game. It's awesome."
Everything Sabres there, from the big screen TV, to the surround sound and theater seating, and even the carpet. They even have a red goal light when they score.
"I don't know if I can take an overtime. But hey, if they come up with a "W." Overtime, regulation that's all that matters," said Moley.
