BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Buffalo Sabres fans are enjoying life in Pegulaville these days. Hundreds answered the casting call Monday for a promotional video at First Niagara Center.

Any day, these days, would be a perfect day to be a Sabres fan. This day couldn't have been better. Fans got to enjoy a Columbus holiday shoot for a Sabres promotional video that will be shown at Friday's home opener with the Carolina Hurricanes.

Sabres videographer Jason Holler said, "Western New York is Hockey Town and Hockey Heaven, so that's why we're putting this together, and we do live hockey here."

Two very young hockey players with the Cazenovia Hockey Association lead the march to the First Niagara Center. Everyone was on board the Sabres bandwagon.

Jim Menchette said, "It's just getting in the spirit of Pegulaville and we all want to get on board. We think we've got a good thing this year."

Sharon Kysor said, "We're all excited. We're going to hopefully make it into the playoffs and eventually get into the cup era. It will be wonderful. Mr. Pegula!"

Zoey Kratt of Williamsville has all the player's names on her jersey. She's never had more fun rooting for her team.

"This year this is a joy in me that I can't explain. It's just so fun to watch them. They have energy, and especially with Pommenville being captain, I think the guys just get a jolt of energy from him," said Kratt.

The players should get a jolt of energy from the fans as well with a show of support Monday night that will be showcased on the Jumbotron.
