BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Sabres stars of the future were up early Tuesday morning. They were getting pre-dawn workouts with Navy Seals all this week, as part of development camp.
News 4 caught up with the team early Tuesday morning, as they trained at Woodlawn Beach. They will also be at the First Niagara Center Tuesday, there's another public workout starting at 10 a.m.
About 40 Sabres prospects are on the camp roster including all of the team's draft picks and NHL regulars like Marcus Foligno and Cody Hodgson, who says there's a lot to learn from the Navy Seal workouts.
Sabres center Cody Hodgson said, “The physical side of it; you're going to get in great shape working with them. But I think more importantly is the mental side of it, you get to see what they go through, the attention to detail that they take into their jobs. And hopefully we can take some of that into our job as well.”
Development camp runs at the First Niagara Center through Thursday, when it wraps up with the Blue and Gold scrimmage at 6.
