AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) - About a dozen Sabres players wrapped up an informal practice at the Northtown Center in Amherst, Monday around noon.
Sabres Steve Ott and Mike Weber have been in and out of western New York, but most of the players practicing Monday have been in Buffalo throughout the lockout.
Matt Ellis, Jordan Leopold and Drew Stafford are all anxious to get back on the ice, after the tentative deal was reached to end the NHL lockout.

After the informal practice Monday, Patrick Kaleta said, "I'm very excited. I got a couple of texts from my buddies yesterday saying, 'you've got your therapy sessions back now.' I go out there and do my thing, and I think the overall consensus is that we're all excited to get back to work."
The players who are in town plan to practice every day this week.
