BUFFALO (WIVB) - As he appears to get ready to buy the Buffalo Sabres, Terry Pegula's interests in sports are coming to light.  We know he's a big hockey fan who's followed the Buffalo Sabres for years.  We have learned that he's been a season ticketholder for the Pittsburgh Penguins, the city where his company is based.  His gift to start Penn State's hockey program has gotten a lot of attention.

But Pegula is also the co-owner of a sports agency, which is run by a Orchard Park native.

Brian Ayrault is the lead sports agent for the company that bears his name.  Ayrault grew up in Orchard Park, attended Orchard Park High School where he played football and baseball, and also attended UB where he played baseball in 2000.

His relationship with Pegula dates back to O.P, where Ayrault attended school with Terry and Kim Pegula's daughters.

Ayrault has high praise for the man who looks to be the Sabres next owner.

"Terry and Kim have been a big influence in my life, and they are two of the finest people I've ever met," Ayrault told News 4 Sports, "they are both tremendous human beings."

Ayrault could not comment on any of Terry Pegula's dealings to buy the Sabres.  He says he is not involved in that purchase.

Ayrault's agency, based in Charlotte, NC, represents NFL football players.  He does not have any Buffalo Bills as clients.  One of his most prominent clients is Browns starting wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi.
