Buffalo, NY (AP) - Derek Roy had a goal and two assists and the Buffalo Sabres avoided blowing a three-goal lead to beat the slumping road-weary Ottawa Senators 4-2 on Tuesday night.
Matt Ellis, Drew Stafford and Thomas Vanek with a game-sealing empty-netter in the final minute also scored for the Sabres, who won their third straight and snapped a four-game home losing streak against their Northeast Division rivals. Ryan Miller stopped 31 shots to win for the fourth time in five starts.
Jason Spezza scored both goals for the Senators 32 seconds apart in the second period after Ottawa fell behind 3-0. Spezza had an opportunity to cap the comeback, but was robbed with 4:25 left when his slap shot from the right circle was snagged by Miller.
