Section 6 teams advance to state semifinals

Section 6 teams win at Far West Regioals

Buffalo, N.Y. (WIVB.com) - Last night several Section VI teams defeated their Section V opponents in the Far West Regionals to advance to the state semifinals.

In the Class AA Far West Regional matchup Orchard Park took on Aquinas. With 3:19 to play Mitch Wilson ran for 24 yards on fourth-and-one to give Orchard Park a 14-7 victory. The Quakers will play undefeated Christian Brothers Academy Saturday at 6pm at Sahlen's Stadium in Rochester.  

Undefeated Alden faced East Rochester in the Far West Regional matchup. The Bulldogs were led by running back Corey Barczykowski, who ran for 273 and three touchdowns en route to a 35-6 victory. Alden will face Maine-Endwell of Section IV at 3pm on Saturday at Sahlen's Stadium in Rochester.

Cleveland Hill was the only Section VI team to lose on Saturday. They lost to Hornell 27-6 and ended their season with an 8-3 record.
