WILSON, N.Y. (WIVB) - Teachers at Wilson High School know Mallorie Gagnon as an ideal student, but her teammates know her as a "pit bull" on the soccer field.
Gagnon's nickname is "pit bull," and the young woman serves as class president.
"I'm pretty aggressive and mean sometimes in sports. I think I'm perserverant, I don't give up, I keep trying, I go after everything, and I work hard," she said.
Her soccer coach, T.J. Baia said, "She's small in stature, but she's got a heart 10 times the size. She goes out and competes with girls bigger than her, and I think at times they underestimate her."
Gagnon is taking five college classes this year, is in National Honor Society and is currently the salutatorian.
