BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Friday turned into a slump-buster for the Sabres' two struggling stars. Drew Stafford and Tyler Myers both found the net, leading Buffalo to a 4-2 win over Boston.
Stafford would strike first off a Tyler Ennis assist less than four minutes into the game. It marked Stafford's first goal of the season, after finishing third on the Sabres last season with 20 goals.
Boston would tie the game on Dougie Hamilton's first career goal, a power play strike. The Bruins would strike again in the second period, carrying a 2-1 lead into the third.
Buffalo would come on strong in the final frame, with Myers registering his second goal of the season on a rebound, after Nathan Gerbe and Jochen Hecht broke out for a 2-on-1.
The Sabres took the lead soon after on Christian Ehrhoff's second goal of the year. Cody Hodgson would score goal number four in the 4-2 victory.
Ryan Miller stopped 30 shots in the win.
On a down note, defenseman Andrej Sekera left the game in the third period with what appeared to be a leg injury. He did not return. Sabres Head Coach Lindy Ruff said it's a severe charlie horse, and Sekera could miss a few days.
Buffalo will host Pittsburgh Sunday at 12:30pm.
