ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WIVB) - Sabres prospect Corey Tropp will be out for the season, after suffering a knee injury while playing in the minor leagues with the Rochester Americans.
Tropp, who scored three goals with Buffalo last season, reportedly tore his MCL and ACL, according to the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle.
The former third-round draft pick is one of several players in Rochester who may have earned a full-time shot with the Sabres this season, if the NHL Lockout had not gone into effect.
On his Twitter account, Tropp posted "Appreciate all the support, tough break but that's life."
The Amerks will play a game at First Niagara Center next week, hosting Hamilton on October 23rd at 7:35pm.
