AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) - Wednesday night was not kind to a pair of Big Four basketball teams, with UB and St. Bonaventure both losing league matchups.
The Bulls fell to Kent State, 80-68, despite 33 points from Javon McCrea. The Bulls trailed by just four points at halftime, and rallied to take the lead midway through the second half, but could not hold off a late surge by the Flashes.
McCrea finished the game 15-for-15 from the free throw line.
St. Bonaventure drops to 0-3 in the Atlantic 10, after a 66-64 loss to Xavier. The Musketeers scored with five seconds left to break a 64-64 tie, but the Bonnies could not convert at the other end of the court.
