AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) - The UB women's basketball team started the season just 2-11, but a young roster has grown up quickly in conference play.
The Bulls sit 5-3 in the MAC East, just one game out of first place. Not bad, for a team featuring two freshmen and two sophomores among its five leading scorers.
"We got here late as a coaching staff, we really wanted to take our time to really share with the young ladies what we want to have as our philosophy," said UB first-year Head Coach Felisha Legette-Jack. "We went slow, we didn't have a lot of things in. Now, we kind of know each other and we're just throwing the book at them."
The Bulls host Bowling Green Thursday night - one of the teams tied with UB in the standings at the moment.
